Diclofenac is a fairly widely used NSAID, which has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect. It is one of the most well-studied NSAIDs with proven efficacy in various musculoskeletal pathologies, arthritis, dysmenorrhea, toothache and other conditions accompanied by pain and inflammation. According to the number of prescriptions, diclofenac is in first place in the world among all NSAIDs¹.

When used in the form of a patch, the drug mainly accumulates in the foci of inflammation located near the place of application, and is slowly removed from there². Thus, the use of the drug in the form of a patch allows not only to reduce the risk of developing systemic adverse reactions, but also to ensure sufficient and stable concentrations in the focus of inflammation, to reduce the frequency of dosing, which is important for increasing patient adherence to treatment ³.

In several RCTs (randomized clinical trials) of diclofenac patches, the effectiveness and absence of significant differences in pain reduction and restoration of function were demonstrated when using diclofenac in oral dosage form and topical dosage forms^4,5,6,7.

Local dosage forms of diclofenac are well tolerated and do not cause serious adverse reactions even with prolonged use⁸.

Composition per patch : diclofenac sodium – 15 mg.

Description: rectangular patches with rounded edges, consisting of a base of non-woven material (polyester).

The size of the patch is 70×100 mm (70 cm2).

Pharmacodynamics

Diclofenac has pronounced analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. The mechanisms of action of diclofenac are based on inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

DiclArtis ® patch provides anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect at the application site, eliminating pain syndrome and reducing swelling associated with the inflammatory process.

Pharmacokinetics

The amount of diclofenac absorbed systemically from the DiclArtis ® patch for 24 hours is similar to that when using an equivalent amount of diclofenac in the dosage form of gel for external use 1%.

Indications for use

For local symptomatic treatment:

• Back pain in inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the spine (sciatica, osteoarthritis, lumbago, sciatica);

• Joint pain (finger joints, knee joints, etc.) in osteoarthritis;

• Muscle pain (due to sprains, overstrain, bruises, injuries);

• Inflammation and swelling of soft tissues and joints due to injuries and rheumatic diseases (tendovaginitis, bursitis, lesions of periarticular tissues).

Method of administration and dosage

Externally in the form of applications on the skin.

Adults and teenagers over 15 years old

The DiclArtis ® patch is glued to the skin over the painful area for 24 hours. Only 1 patch is allowed to be used during the day.

In the treatment of soft tissue injuries, the DiclArtis ® patch is used for no more than 14 days, and in the treatment of muscle and joint diseases – no more than 21 days, unless there are special recommendations from a doctor.

If after 7 days there is no improvement in the condition or the condition worsens, it is necessary to consult a doctor.

Children

It is not recommended to use Diclofenac patch in children under the age of 15 years.

Elderly patients

Similar to the method of application and doses for adults.

If there is no improvement after treatment, or the symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, it is necessary to consult a doctor. Use the drug only according to the indications, the method of use and in the doses specified in the instructions.

Release form

Transdermal patch, 15 mg/ day.

7 patches each in a thermally welded aluminum foil bag.

Expiration date

2 years.

Vacation conditions

They are released without a prescription.
